At Rhumerie the visitors are treated with scenic views of the vast plantations of sugarcane, intermingled with tropical fruits such as pineapples.

Deeply rooted in the tradition of rhum production and where sugarcane is grown on 220 hectares of land. Rhumerie Chamarel produces pure sugarcane juice and rum exclusively from the estate’s plantations. Have a guided tour with one of the experienced guides who will provide you with a detailed explanation of the rum making process while you visit the distillery.

At Rhumerie de Chamarel they take great pride in crafting the finest rum using traditional methods and the highest quality ingredients. The rums are made exclusively from the sugarcane grown in the their plantation ensuring that the best and fresh canes are used. They are carefully selected and grown for the production of the Chamarel Rums this is the secret of the quality of the rum.

The freshly harvested sugarcane will be transferred within 4 hours to the Distillery to preserve its freshness and aromas. The first pressed sugarcane juice will be filtered, then the process of the making of rum continues.

One of the distillery’s strong points is that it was designed to provide a holistic tourism experience to guests. They have also created a building that blends harmoniously with the spectacular surroundings, wood, natural stone and water provide a sense of communion with nature, turning the distillery into one of the most beautiful factories in the world.

Next enjoy a lunch in their restaurant - L’Alchimiste which is an upscale restaurant and specialises in a unique cuisine, prepared with local products sourced from the estate itself. Open for lunch and afternoon Tea break on the terrace with a selection of crepes and other pastries.
